As a high tech manufacturing company with over 30,000 employees at sites around the globe, Micron depends heavily on advanced analytics and machine learning. This presentation will provide an overview with selected highlights from Micron's broad use of data science to drive and refine its core operations and business strategy. Topics to be covered include a high level survey of use cases for machine learning at Micron, a discussion of the principles and techniques that enable reliable statistical learning, and a review of deep learning and it's utilization across the company.

Presenter Bio

Colin Ard is the Senior IT Enterprise Data Scientist in Micron's Enterprise Analytics and Data - Data Science team. He holds a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from UCSD, and prior to joining Micron held a position as a project scientist in the Biostatistics Core of UCSD's Shiley-Marcos Alzheimer's Disease Research Center. His work at Micron focuses on the design of advanced statistical learning solutions for problems spanning supply chain, procurement, sales, human resources, and manufacturing functions.
